Community around BVCC
If one wants to acquire the mercy of the Lord, he has to associate with pure devotees. Such association alone can, by degrees, release one from the quivering elements.
H.D.G A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
In todayʼs world, where everything is connected, many people are feeling increasingly isolated and lonely. This has led to higher rates of depression and mental health issues. To address this growing concern and create a wholesome, healthy environment for devotees, BVCC has a rich congregation of devotees and well wishers around the temple.
Devotees usually belong to groups led by senior devotees with considerable life experience, known as Counsellors. The Counselee system is one of the greatest assets for devotees. Counselors provide valuable insights into life and situations, helping devotees make informed decisions. They also listen patiently to the challenges that devotees may face, offering significant emotional support. This support gives devotees the mental strength to balance their material and spiritual lives, allowing them to dedicate themselves to the service of Krishna. Counselors also guide devotees in various temple services, such as participating in festivals and community volunteering. The aim is to create an environment conducive to devotion and a safe space for the emotional well-being of devotees.
Vedic Training for Children
It takes a village to raise a child. – An African proverb.
Children are like sponges, absorbing everything from their environment. The habits, thought patterns, and moral values formed during their early years carry into adulthood. Keeping this in mind, BVCC has initiated training programs for both girls and boys. These classes are typically held on weekends to avoid interfering with their regular school schedules.
Children are encouraged to learn Sanskrit slokas, which enhance memory and concentration, and to listen to inspirational stories about various devotees from different eras, along with chanting the holy names of the Lord. This focus on Krishna helps build their inner strength. Additionally, short trips to holy places in and around Prayagraj are organized for the children.
